Date Arrived: 14 November 2003
Date Departed: 16 December 2003
Hub Area: Las Vegas, Nevada
Actual Location: City : Las Vegas State : Nevada
Summary Title : Las Vegas, Nevada Visit Summary
Summary : I stayed an entire month in Las Vegas. I stayed at the Desert Sands RV Park on Boulder Highway. From there I was centrally located.
Some of the places I visited while in Las Vegas:
- Lake Meade
- Hoover Dam
- Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino
- The Luxor Hotel & Casino (Replica of King Tuts Tomb and Museum first discovered by Howard Carter in 1922)
- The Excalibur Hotel & Casino
- New York - New York Hotel & Casino
- The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
- The Tropicana Hotel & Casino
- The Jokers Wild on Boulder Highway
- The Skyline Casino on Boulder Highway
- Treasure Island Hotel and Casino
- Westward Ho Casino Hotel and Casino
- Circus Circus Hotel and Casino
- Stratosphere Hotel and Casino (1149 ft. tower whic is higher than the Eiffel Tower, and was similar to the Space Needle in Seattle.)
- The Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino (The Star Trek Experience. A combination of museum of Star Trek artifacts, Star Trek theme shops and restaurants and a simulator ride. I had a Romulan Ale at Quark's)
- Nickel Nicky's (The coffee really was 5 cents a cup)
- Sunset Station Hotel and Casino and Cinema (watched the "Master and the Commander" with Russell Crowe)
- Bellagio Hotel and Casino (Large indoor Christmas Tree and Christmas Balls Tree)
- Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino (specifically the Forum Shops and the Race for Atlantis 3-D simulator ride, Planet Hollywood and the Virgin Music Mega Store)
- The Mirage Hotel and Casino (Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden)
- Harrah's Hotel and Casino
- The Flamingo Hotel and Casino
- The Aladdin Hotel and Casino
The Venitian (grand canal running most of the way through with gondolas complete with crooning handlers)
- The Hard Rock Casino and Hotel
I must say there is a lot of stuff to visit here. All the Hotel Casino's are magnificant. However, my memory of my last visit to Las Vegas in the early 80's was spoiled a bit. The town is many times larger than it was then and far more crowded. Traffic is a nighmare. Reminds me of the Los Angeles, California area. That is not a good reminder.
I would like to come back again but I would like to spend an etire winter here where I can really take some time to see everything and not have to be in a rush.
