My first blog in my Classic Destinations category is one of my favorite places, Yosemite, National Park.
I have been there numerous times over my life. My first recollection would be circa 1957 or 1958. When my family took a summer vacation there. I believe buried away somewhere are some old family photos of that trip. In the future I will try to dig those out and add them to the web site.
I have been back to Yosemite recently. First was in 1999 (before my adventure) when I was visiting family down around the Fresno area and again in 2002, both of these trips were before I began this current adventure as a full time RVer. Then again during my current adventure while I was staying in Kingsburg during April, May and part of June 2004. Each of those times My Aunt Janet and Uncle James Seay and I went for a day trip.
Yosemite National Park is without a doubt one of the most beautiful parks in America. Of all the places I have visited over my years, Yosemite Valley is still one of my favorite destinations. Probably because as I get older and having seen so many places change, so much over the years, Yosemite still looks the same as I remembered from my previous or even my first visit. That is a comforting thing these days.
Two of the most spectacular views are of El Capitan and the Bridal Falls. Each time I and My Aunt and Uncle visit we have lunch at the Ahwahnee Hotel. They have great food and service all inside a most spectacular building.
I give Yosemite my highest recommendation if you are planning to visit. If you would like to see more details about my visits including some pictures of El Capitan, the Bridal Falls and the Ahwanhnee Hotel then go here.
