Time to start my planning for the summer and to bring you up to date on my summer and longer term plans.
My friend Steve has had to postpone his wedding for a few months so I won't be heading to Denver this spring after all. Hopefully I will be available to go to his wedding when it does take place. I plan to stay here until late May then head west first stopping for a few weeks in Baker, Oregon then onto La Grande, Oregon for a month or so. While there I will take some day trips up to places like Wallowa Lake and hopefully attend the Chief Joseph Days celebration in Joseph, Oregon during July.
Then in August, or so, I plan to head back this way and first spend a few weeks along the Snake River probably near Ontario, Oregon. Then back here to Boise for a month or so before heading off to Arizona for the coldest part of the winter.
As you may know, by reading previous posts, that my brother-in-law passed away a couple of weeks ago. My reason for staying in the general area of Boise this summer is so I can be a little handy for my sister Linda in case she needs me around.
As of this writing I still plan to attend the U. S. Navy Reunion that is planned to be held in Holy Loch, Scotland sometime in May 2009. I say this even though I sense the interest in holding the next reunion to be a little tepid. I suppose it has something to do with the economy and or the exchange rate which is hovering around 2 Dollars for 1 Pound. I will just have to wait a while longer before I can be sure if that visit to Scotland will happen next year or not.
If the reunion does take place I will be leaving Arizona early in May 2009 to come back here to Boise so my son can keep an eye on my cats. My babies if you will. While I fly over to Scotland for the reunion. If the reunion does not take place I will go ahead and stay south and instead of coming back up to Boise I will go over into Southern California and work my way up the coast area all the way to Washington state.
Next week I am going to take a couple of days and scout out the RV Parks between here and La Grande. I haven't been back to La Grande in over a decade so don't know what they have available for RV Parks. I also will check out the RV Parks in the Ontario and Baker areas. After I complete my scouting mission I will let you know what I found out.
