I am now in Colorado, even if just barely. I am in a small town named Seibert which is about 160 miles east of Denver and about 50 miles inside the Colorado, Kansas border on Interstate 70.
The drive along I70 is a pleasant one. No traffic on a mostly flat and straight highway. I did note that their was a slight rise in elevation as I traveled west. The elevation at Russell, Kansas where I departed was about 1800 Ft. The elevation here in Seibert is about 4,700 so you can see I climbed quite a bit but it was done so gradually that I hardly noticed. It was further disguised by the rolling terrain. I did a lot of gentle up and down along the way. Apparently I did more ups than I did downs.
I stopped here in Seibert because there is an RV Park called The Shady Grove Wifi RV Park. I decided to stop off here because I had some work I needed to get done and it would give me a chance to research the RV Parks more thoroughly in the Denver area using a hopefully good Internet connection.
My general plan is to stay in the Denver area for about a month which will put it over the 4th of July holiday which may very well be booked up for most RV Parks. Hence the need to do careful research. I don't want to be the one left standing when the music stops on the 3rd of July. This year the 4th of July weekend will be a very long one for some campers. Though I am not a camper, I am an RVer, I do often have to compete for the same RV Park spaces.
When I arrived the owner was there and I told him I was looking for a good internet connection and he and I walked around to several empty RV spaces while I checked the signal strength. We found several that would be good but we continued on until we found the best space. I appreciated his assistance and understanding of how important it was to me.
My plan is to stay here a few days to do the needed research then head on up to the Denver area later this week or early next week.
